WHAT COULD GO WRONG, IF YOU IGNORE YOUR HOME GUTTERS?

When you don’t take proper care of your home gutters, they tend to fill up with dirt and leaves. This may sound obvious, but you would be surprised at how quickly a gutter can get clogged with layers of mud that pours down from your roof!

Are you aware of that clogged gutters are a paradise for pests, rodents and mold which aren’t the type of company you want for your home!

First of all, why should you clean the gutters? Gutters offer an essential service but are frequently ignored in our homes. However, by the time most of us notice a problem and decide to clean it up, it might be too late. Negligence can cause serious problems for your roof and gutters over time.

Gutter components are not designed to overflow. If you get a lot of rain in your area, you gutter system may not be able to cope if no one takes care of it. Spillage and leaks are likely to occur along the edge of your roof and cause your gutter brackets to rust eventually.

What do you think will happen when gutter systems start leaking?

The water flowing will have to go somewhere, and it is unlikely to downspout. If your gutters are crammed with debris and mud, they will fill up faster than intended and that water will start spilling down the side-straight onto your eaves and sidings. The effect can often be much worse with water overflowing your floor causing cracks and structural damage over time.

Gutter parts that have been worn and poorly maintained will eventually collapse. Gutters are made to withstand the weight of water for a short period of time, not the weight of debris and mud for an extended period.

Poorly maintained gutter components will place too much pressure on their brackets, causing them to collapse and potentially cause damage to other areas of your home. Therefore, it is very important that you take good care of the gutters.
